BERGET 19 - THE TOWER OF PAIN
Berget 19 introduces a new storyline with major changes to gameplay that will create a moving conflict across the entire game area and move away from the focus on capturing and holding capture points without a clear goal or reward. The missions for all sides will be more numerous, clearer, and the gameplay rewards will be given to the team that succeeds in their missions. Commanders will have more detailed missions to hand out to their units in addition to the general OP order.
We will be reintroducing Berget Dollars and civilians to the game. Most civilians will start as prisoners in a cornered off prison camp. Inside there will be a blissful mix of innocent journalists, political prisoners, murderers, thieves and captured soldiers from the resistance movement. Twice a day the prisoners are rotated to be sent out for penal labor in several of the local mines, heavily guarded by armed guards who have orders to shoot at the slightest escape attempt or refusal to work.
As a small example of the new dynamic game scenarios we are planning, there will at the start of the game be a selected group of escaped prisoners fitted with GPS-trackers and visible for all on the online, live in-game map. They will do their best to evade capture while it's in all factions best interest to be the first ones to find them.
After reading and taking in your feedback from last year's event, we will be making major revisions and updates to the rules which will be released on the 15th of December. Below are some examples.
We will greatly increase hit points in frontal armor for tanks and the heaviest vehicle class, while also adding a secondary hit receiver to the rear of the vehicle that does more damage if hit.
We will increase the number of anti-tank weapons in the game, balance vehicle rules, hit points and respawn so that infantry and mechanized can play together more effectively. Mechanized units on all sides will get a dedicated repair and recovery vehicle.
To create a 3-dimensional threat image, armed drones will be introduced, and two versions will be used in-game. A drone with 40mm grenades that can shoot BB's and a larger version that can shoot out vehicles with BAVS. Both versions can be shot down with BAVS and anti-aircraft weapons. More info will come in the rule revisions. Only operators in the UAV unit are allowed to use drones and players cannot shoot BB's at drones. More info in the upcoming rules update.
This year you will be able to book your preferred BAVS-unit at the same time as you buy your ticket. We are still keeping the rule of maximum one BAVS per ticket, and to ensure game balance we are keeping a few in reserve to make sure all factions have their fair share.
Remember that some factions will be more popular than others and the limited number of tickets might sell out fast. As usual we will be removing unpaid tickets after 30 days to free up more room, but if you want to make sure to play on a specific unit, we recommend that you book your ticket on release night.
We have chosen to temporarily suspend the official Berget forums with the goal to move over to an alternative communication channel. Until that is done, we will have extra crew working on [email protected] to ensure quick response on all your questions.
The game will be held June 27th to July 1st, 2023, game area TBA.
The tickets will be released Sunday 27th November 20:00 CET with a 30 EURO discount the first night.
